I got the new camera... lochie got a teddy bears picnic... afternoon tea party.

HE IS SO TIRED.. he had a swim class at 11 this morning.. one on one private lesson to catch up on his skills before he can start a swim class.

He loved it but is so tired. He didn't nap...fell asleep in the car on the way to the camera store.. I carried him for a bit but had to wake him up. He was pretty good...

so on the way home we stopped off at a excellent lil store/bakery and got some special cakes..

I threw an impromptu tea party for him and teddy... complete with chocolate tea (chocolate milk in a plunger).. hehe and tea cups.

I snapped a few photos.. *come on how could i not*.. will take some getting used to but.. OH YEAH.

See this kid... see how happy he is with this cake... well i think his Mumma had a similar look on her face when she looked at the camera..

I snapped a couple with the 30D on a 50mm 1.4 and will do the same with the 5D... already I can see that whole popped colour .. ala jinky or jessica claire will be easier. wooohoooot

did i mention how excited i am.

if you thought i was excited about Coverflow and Leopard (which I am..) you should see how excited I am right now.

I do love my husband.. as much as the business is paying for it.. he is so supportive of me spending the money on something so expensive/cool/important and great... and .. he lets me follow my dreams and ideas..even if he doesnt always understand them.. Love you Babe.

Sitting here waiting for the dishwasher to finish so i can cook the boys breakfast.. sure i could cook it before.. but what would I put it on ..... we ran out of plates. .OPPS.

Of course.. 15 mins into the wait.. i remember the GOOD dinner set.. we could have used it..LOL

Just bought another cape... we have some friends who have a lil guy who is 3 weeks younger than lochie.. so a cape for christmas seems ideal.

and my totally adorable child.. with food in his mouth.. i swear he is actually a much nicer child than he appears here..LOL but.. he is OBSESSED with Scooby doo.. and was attempting to sing along to the new intro.. and we were in stitches.. so I grabbed the phone and recorded him.. the weird arm thing he is doing.. is somewhere between air guitar and a rap artist hand thing.. who knows? This should play in quicktime.

Theatre..

I took lochie to storyland theatre today.. this sounded SO cool.

They read a story.. then act it out... dress up.. do some craft.. Lochs is an outgoing kinda kid.. in his comfort zone but we are finding him more shy than you might find a 4yo lil guy ... so we thought this might help him a lil.. plus.. for the first time ever i have time to do these things. It also seemed right up his alley because he loves acting out lil dramas and role playing..

so along we go.. we go in and they read a fab book.. lil monster book. bit of halloween craft.. i am all up for that.despite aust. not really doing halloween.

The story ends and Lochie stands up.. walks over to the teacher and says:
Thanks so much for letting me try your class, but .. I am just really not that into it. We are going to go home now... thanks!

and came over.. said Mum - I am just not thinking this class is for us.. Lets go home.

I had promised him a freddo frog (small chocolate frog) for trying the class. He figured he didnt get one now because we didnt stay. I said he could have it .. not for doing the class but for saying what he thought, being polite about it and trying something new. I was proud of him you know... as soon as I finished dying of embarrassment.

I do love this kid.

Need Sleep

Today we all discovered that when Mummy works more than 40 hours in 48 hours.. it isnt pretty. FOR ANYONE.. LOL

I must be getting old. Today was family day.. but I wasnt really into it.. I had INTENDED to go to at midnight.. sleep till 6:30/7? Catch up a lil.. we even preset the DVD for lochie (Andrews day to sleep in so I was buying some time). He got up at.. wait for it.. 5 to 4 .. AM.. 5 mins to 4am! *sobbing*..

I tried to convince him it was NOT day time but he was wide awake. I got him some breaky.. got him all set up and said I was going back to lay down.. He was upset and wanted me to sleep on the lounge.. i didnt.. (now i wish I had).. and so he popped in and out every 10 - 15 mins for an hour or so.. didnt need anything. was just being silly. (not really awake himself maybe?) eventually I gave up and got up.. whats the point right?

We let Daddy sleep till 8 and then had breakfast at our fav place.. real coffee helped! They make it so strong but i didnt complain today.LOL Foolishly we headed to the shops (lochie had birthday money arrive this week and was keen for MORE toys) and I wanted a couple more presentation boxes. So Andrew drove.. on the way home we stopped in for fruit and vege.. Now I know I was tired but did not realise HOW tired until I could not for the life of me make my fingers work to open the plastic bag to put the fruit and vege in..LOL it just wouldnt work.. I think that is a def sign of tired.

We came home.. I showered and curled up on the day bed and on the deck and slept. The house was hot from being closed up (we thought it might have stormed whilst we were out...the back deck is SO cool..(i was actually cold sleeping out there) .. will be a favoured spot in summer!

So some sleep and back to it again..:)

Andrew gave me some down time to scrap and I made the boys healthy burgers for dinner. love that they eat salad and good meat.. if you shape it like a burger..LOL

I did do some screen shots of the new Coverflow in OS X Leopard.. oh yeah.. makes scrapping a breeze.. you can kinda flick through everything.. You may need to click on the image to make it the full size.

:) I had a hassle free upgrade but def back up because not everyone is. I have managed to open everything fine but some people are having issues with some programs and the lesser known programs that we all find and learn to love..

THANK FULLY... I am one of the lucky ones and the install went pretty well. 5 hours total. Including backup (which you probably shouldn't count) but I am.

It is a thing of beauty. YAY Mac.

Still working.. Very excited about the potential backing up process to install the new stuff.. NOT

but .. best to do it now before i spend any more time loading files on stuff.. huh

Do I really need it?

I am usually a need rather than want kinda person.. if there is no real purpose.. then why would you? I am also fairly minimalist.. but.. OH my goodness I have been spending some money this year. LOL

I have begun looking for a second camera.. I need two but my thinking is.. why buy down (400d) and make the 30d my main camera (cause i love it).. when I could buy up.. and grab a 5D and retired the 30D to the backup. (foolishly considering that the 30D would be great for family shots on weekends and of lochie goofing at home.. but seriously.. if i had a 5D would I capture him on a 30D..LOL

So.. the thinking is.. look at a 5D.. which had dropped ALOT in price.. like.. ALOT here.. so I am thinking about it.. I think a new one is on its way and I am A O K with having the older one if it is THAT much cheaper.. if they put in the new one it may just jump back out of my price range again (it was about $4500 here at one point from memory) .. so.. it is a thought..

but then.. i think about all i have bought! oh my. New office furniture, 2 new macs and all new software.. new logo and business products.. new prints for the office.. redecorated in yellow.. ...new file storage.. new new new new new.. and I am REALLY thinking some more on it now..LOL

and then they went and released a new OS for mac. COME ON! I mean.. i dont need that. I dont even like upgrading.. I DO NOT upgrade until a new puter comes with it..LOL but... guess who went and watched the video. A mac novice like me was happy for the first minute or so.. doesnt look ANY different.. small changes..lil cosmetic things.. *phew*.. no big deal there! Then i saw it.. the new finder.

*i had to wipe drool off my screen*

Have you guys seen this? Seriously cool stuff. I WANT it.. i like finder.. in theory. and it works kinda OK now i am getting used to it.. but i want the NEW kinda finder with the abilty to TRULY prev an image before opening it. Cover Flow ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh *melt*..

Wonder if Andrew will pick me up a copy on his way to the park today.. ?

Something a lil different

Just finished this one.. it is 'normal' but i really like it.. it has a bit of an angel/gargoyle feel? Or is that me revealing far too much about my own inner issues? LOL

I really like the colour finish (not sure what it looks like here (and on various monitors) but on the good screen it looks awesome :)
